1789:
Twelve of the crew members of HMS Bounty stage a mutiny that is to lead
to the creation of a new language. They settle on the uninhabited
Pacific island of Pitcairn, where their descendants still speak
Pitcairnese.
1908: Foundation of the UEA, the Universal Esperanto Academy.
